As a key member of our team at Miller Thomson, you will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations. We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team in Vaughan or Toronto office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements for assigned departments and offices.
  • Create various month-end financial, statistical, and ad-hoc reports.
  • Perform review and analysis of assigned accounts to ensure accurate postings and reflection in the correct period.
  • Support during month-end and year-end processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings for various entities and tax packages for lawyers.
  • Provide support during the annual budgeting process.
  • Calculate and maintain bank covenants, borrowing limits, leasehold amortization schedules, retained earnings schedules, step rent, and CRA vs. GAAP amortization for leasing companies.
  • Prepare cash flow reports and assist in treasury functions.
  • Assist with the annual external audit.

Requirements:

  • Accounting diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a similar position.
  • Accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CA, etc.) is an asset.
  • Proven success in working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel in particular.
  • Close attention to detail and ability to quickly identify problems and provide solutions.
  • Experience with accounting software.
