Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of research excellence, a strong commitment to teaching, and a demonstrated ability to contribute to the department's equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain an independent, internationally recognized research program in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Contribute to high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching, including the supervision of graduate students.
- Provide service to the University and the broader community, including participation in departmental and faculty committees.
- Engage in collaborative research and knowledge transfer activities with industry and other stakeholders.
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the relevant provincial association.
- Evidence of a strong research program, including a track record of publications and research funding.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and a demonstrated ability to contribute to a diverse and inclusive academic environment.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research interests, statement of teaching interests, and names and contact information for four referees. Review of applications will commence on November 01, 2024, and will continue until the position is filled.
