Job Title: Automotive Body Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Body Mechanic to join our team at CANUCK TOWING & SERVICES LTD.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining vehicles in our body shop. This includes cleaning and maintaining the work space, replacing front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components, and applying primers and repaint surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain work space to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components to ensure vehicles are roadworthy
  • File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired to achieve a smooth finish
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting to ensure a professional finish
  • Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers to restore vehicle body to its original shape
  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish
  • Mix paint, blend and match colors to ensure a perfect match
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment to ensure vehicles are safe to drive
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components to ensure vehicles are roadworthy
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the automotive body repair industry
  • Permanent employment with 40 hours per week
  • English language proficiency
