Job Title: Driver, Truck

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team at La Verrerie Walker Ltée. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer unit to transport goods and materials across various routes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance and perform preventive maintenance tasks as required.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch and other stakeholders to receive and relay information.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption accurately and efficiently.
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo is a critical aspect of this role.
Requirements:
  • Air Brakes Endorsement and a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) are mandatory.
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
