About the Role

Beta Technologies is a pioneering company in the field of electric aviation, and we're seeking a highly skilled Stress Composites Testing Engineer to join our Structures team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our composite structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute test plans to support the certification of composite structures
  • Collaborate with the Materials & Processes group to derive requirements and complete hand calculations and FEM analysis
  • Write and review test requirements, test plans, and test results
  • Support test execution and analyze test results
  • Perform FEM analysis and validation of composite structures
  • Contribute to the development of industry-leading composite materials and testing methodologies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in composite materials and testing
  • Experience with composite laminate design, including layup definitions
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and methodologies, including CMH-17, AC 20-107B, FAR 23 & 25 Requirements, and ASTM
  • Demonstrated proficiency in FEM analysis using industry-recognized tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CATIA 3D
  • Knowledge of requirements for composite automated manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with Google G-Suite and Slack
