The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Food Safety Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, conducting microbiological and chemical testing to ensure the quality and safety of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct microbiological and chemical testing to monitor plant performance against predetermined targets
  • Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality and safety issues
  • Perform data analysis and reporting using statistical software
  • Assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Ensure adherence to laboratory responsibilities, programs, and policies

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma from a recognized university or college in a related scientific discipline (microbiology, chemistry, food science) and/or equivalent related experience
  • Prior knowledge of laboratory procedures, HACCP, Six Sigma, GMP's, and GLP's would be considered an asset
  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
