Senior Civil Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Kelowna, BC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading civil engineering projects, creating and managing engineering designs, studies, and reports for land development and municipal infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead civil engineering projects, including creating and managing engineering designs, studies, and reports.
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of documents required for approvals, prepare development and construction cost estimates, tender documents, and contracts.
  • Provide non-technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Manage client relationships and projects to ensure client expectations and project performance goals are being met.
  • Provide construction contract administration for high-value or importance projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Complete required safety forms for each project and ensure safety policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate team members.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
  • At least 12 years of relevant, Canadian work experience.
  • Ability to design all municipal civil infrastructure, including sites, roads, water, wastewater, stormwater, and grading.
  • Proven success leading project teams of engineers and technologists.
  • Strong technical writing skills for reports and proposals.
  • Excellent Project Management skills, with preference given to those with PMP certification.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and computer software packages for roads, water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
