Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze medical information from patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals to identify health issues and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, from minor illnesses to complex chronic diseases.
  • Develop and implement health promotion and disease prevention strategies to help patients maintain optimal health and well-being.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests and imaging studies, to inform treatment decisions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including specialists and community health workers, to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
  • Prescribe and administer medications, as well as provide vaccinations and other medical treatments, to patients in need.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on healthy lifestyle choices, disease management, and other health-related topics.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, including medical students and residents, to ensure they receive the training and guidance they need to succeed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, guidelines, and best practices to provide evidence-based care to patients.
Requirements
  • College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)
  • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • 3-5 years of experience in family medicine or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare setting
