We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatologist to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children. As a Neonatologist, you will play a critical role in the care and treatment of newborns and infants, providing expert medical attention and guidance to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Medical Research and Treatment
- Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, and preventive or curative methods
- Prescribe medication and treatment plans for newborns and infants
- Refer patients for surgery and other medical procedures
- Diagnostic and Treatment Planning
- Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to diagnose and treat medical conditions
- Develop and implement treatment plans for newborns and infants
- Consultation and Education
- Act as consultants to other physicians and healthcare professionals
- Provide education and training to medical staff on neonatal care and treatment
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to newborns and infants
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff
- Education and Certification
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
- Experience and Skills
- 5 years or more of experience in neonatal care and treatment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under pressure
