About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatologist to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children. As a Neonatologist, you will play a critical role in the care and treatment of newborns and infants, providing expert medical attention and guidance to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Research and Treatment
    • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, and preventive or curative methods
    • Prescribe medication and treatment plans for newborns and infants
    • Refer patients for surgery and other medical procedures
  • Diagnostic and Treatment Planning
    • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to diagnose and treat medical conditions
    • Develop and implement treatment plans for newborns and infants
  • Consultation and Education
    • Act as consultants to other physicians and healthcare professionals
    • Provide education and training to medical staff on neonatal care and treatment
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to newborns and infants
    • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
    • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
    • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Experience and Skills
    • 5 years or more of experience in neonatal care and treatment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under pressure
