About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team at 49 North Mechanical Ltd. as an Installation and Repair Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in various commercial and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Repair: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Pipe Fabrication and Fitting: Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Supervision and Teamwork: Supervise other workers and instruct apprentices. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification, Plumber Trade Certification.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands: Physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, excellent oral communication, judgement, team player.
  • Experience and Tools: Experience an asset, tools, safety equipment/gear, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat.
