The Transportation Operations Supervisor is a key role within the Canada Cartage Group, responsible for providing effective transportation services to customers and managing the department's resources and work processes to achieve customer service and delivery goals.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage drivers, including training, development, coaching, and performance appraisals.
- Schedule drivers and verify hours worked.
- Monitor service levels to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
- Assist dispatchers and planners in troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day issues and activities.
- Ensure goals are met and exceeded in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and people measurement.
- Promote Health & Safety guidelines and operational policies and procedures.
- 3-5 years of supervisor experience required.
- 1-2 years of transportation industry experience is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
- Negotiation and/or facilitation ability.
- Direct experience with staff scheduling in a variable work volume environment.
