About the Role

We are a high-volume, fast-paced criminal defence firm seeking a licensed paralegal to assist in administrative procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth running of client intake and initial case management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to paralegals and lawyers, including scheduling, correspondence with clients and courthouses, and disclosure organization and review.
  • Comfortable speaking in court and handling all aspects of a court appearance, including detailed court instructions, communication with clients, calendar management, note taking, and relaying important instructions and tasks to lawyers.
  • Assist with disclosure review and organization, general mail merge, and drafting of court applications.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Paralegal Program and/or relevant legal program.
  • Experience working in a legal setting is an asset.
  • Willingness to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong working initiative and being an active member of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in criminal defence or the criminal justice procedure.
