Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Northland School Division. As a Physical Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive physical education program to students in Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a physical education program that meets the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
  • Plan and deliver daily lessons that promote physical activity, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement a comprehensive physical education program that aligns with the school's curriculum goals.
  • Champion Cree language and culture revitalization and curriculum infusion in the physical education program.
  • Support school-parent-community engagement through physical education initiatives.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and commit to collaborative decision-making.
  • Promote differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Teaching Quality Standard certificate.
  • Must hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree.
  • Successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and experience as an Athletic Director will be considered valuable assets.
