About the Role:
The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vice President, External Communications and Stakeholder Relations to join our team. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for leading our external communications strategy, managing our reputation, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive external communications strategy that aligns with BDC's business vision and corporate priorities.
- Manage the bank's reputation by proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and crises.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media, investors, customers, and employees.
- Lead a team of dedicated professionals in the development and implementation of external communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to senior management and the executive team on key external communications issues.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in external communications and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements:
- 15 years of business experience, with 5-8 years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record of success in external communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken.
