Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist is a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the administration of therapeutics and educational activities related to respiratory therapy services. This role requires a high level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and action to be taken on unusual matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical support to physicians and practitioners in clinics by coordinating and managing client needs referred for respiratory care.
- Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and action to be taken on unusual matters.
- Function in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an approved School of Respiratory Therapy Program, accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Therapy Education.
- Active membership and good standing with the Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
- Proficiency in both official languages.
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality.
Conditions of Employment
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
- Immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
