Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate experiential learning activities into the core curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with community Elders, families, and staff members to promote greater community involvement in school-based activities
  • Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of students
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and the community
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent
  • Recent practicum or experience teaching at an intermediate level
  • Experience integrating experiential learning activities into the core curriculum
  • Experience working with First Nation students and families in an educational setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain an authentic relationship with the Liard First Nation government and community
Desired Qualities
  • Eagerness to learn about and integrate Liard First Nation culture and worldview into the classroom
  • Strong classroom management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate learners and promote a positive learning environment
  • Strong understanding of a philosophy of inclusive education
