Project and Planning Manager

Key Responsibilities
As a Project and Planning Manager at BlueShore Financial, you will be responsible for providing guidance and advice to new project managers on preparing concise verbal and written reports. You will also advise the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer on the enterprise-wide and interdepartmental project "funnels" and make recommendations on resourcing requirements to ensure corporate values are maintained.
Project Management
- Manage a wide variety of projects executed by large cross-functional teams.
- Work with project leaders to address issues that may hinder the success of a project, if required.
- Ensure project proposals are in line with the approved risk appetite framework.
- Collaborate with all departments to seek and implement project management process improvements.
- Stay current on emerging project management trends to continually improve BlueShore's project management function and service delivery.
- Ensure that project management documentation requirements are scalable based on the size and complexity of projects.
- Assist project managers in translating complex project decisions into plain English for reporting purposes.
- Assist project managers in completing documentation if requested or required.
- Advocate on behalf of project teams to build consensus when needed.
- Liaise with project stakeholders through effective and regular communication.
- Develop and maintain all aspects of the project management site on Compass and FileNet, including updating project management material as required.
Strategic Initiatives
- Assist in preparation of strategic documents.
- Prepare documentation and presentations to advise Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and/or the Board of Directors on special projects.
- Assist departmental colleagues in other related duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- University or college degree in a related field such as business administration.
- PMP designation is strongly preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience managing projects with demonstrated success.
- Recent experience working in the financial services industry is an asset.
- Solid working knowledge of software development release cycles (e.g. Agile development and project management practices).
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Visio.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to advocate for corporate initiatives.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade, while applying empathy and being open to hearing the opinions of others.
- Self-starter with a collaborative and strategic mindset.
Pay Transparency
The target base salary range for this role is $94,000 - $115,000/year, plus a variable performance bonus. Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience, formal accreditations, and internal equity.
