Job Summary

Soo Foundry & Machine is seeking an experienced Machinist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machine tools to produce high-quality products.

About the Role

We are offering a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including dental plan, health care plan, vision care benefits, and a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality parts and products.
  • Maintain and repair precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Set up and operate boring machines, broaching machines, drill presses, engine lathes, milling machines, and sawing machines.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software and computer numerical control (CNC) machines to create complex parts and products.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to understand production requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Diploma or certificate in machinist training, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of precision machining principles.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and CNC machines is an asset.
