The Medical Director, Hospitalist Program Lead is a key leadership position at Island Health, responsible for driving operational excellence and quality improvement in the hospitalist program. This role requires strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with physicians, staff, and other stakeholders.
Main responsibilities of this position:
- Leadership and Governance: Co-leads the hospitalist program to ensure seamless delivery of services, working closely with the Executive Medical Director and other medical leaders to address governance and professional practice issues.
- Operational Excellence: Develops and implements processes to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency in the hospitalist program, monitoring team performance and making adjustments as needed.
- Change Management and Innovation: Champions change management initiatives to engage physicians and staff in adopting new technologies and best practices, driving continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Informatics and Data-Driven Decision Making: Leads the team in leveraging electronic health records (EHRs) and other data sources to inform decision making and improve patient outcomes.
- Strategic Planning and Resource Allocation: Collaborates with medical and administrative leaders to prioritize resource needs and allocate resources effectively to support the hospitalist program's goals and objectives.
