Job Title: Home Childcare Provider

We are seeking a reliable and caring Home Childcare Provider to join our team at Darwin Gadioma. As a Home Childcare Provider, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children in a home setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the children.
  • Shop for food and household supplies, and manage the household budget.
  • Wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens, and maintain a clean and organized home.
  • Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, and ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Care for foster children, and provide a nurturing and supportive environment.
  • Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, and encourage their learning and growth.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, and ensure the children's safety and well-being.
  • Organize activities such as games and outings for children, and provide opportunities for socialization and development.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals, and ensure the children's dietary needs are met.
  • Prepare infants and children for rest periods, and ensure they get adequate sleep and rest.
  • Supervise and care for children, and provide a stable and supportive environment.
  • Take children to and from school and to appointments, and ensure their transportation needs are met.
  • Tend to the emotional well-being of children, and provide a nurturing and supportive environment.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a home setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with special needs children.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages, preferably English and French.
Work Environment:

The Home Childcare Provider will work in a home setting, providing care and support to children in a safe and healthy environment. The work environment will be fast-paced and dynamic, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Physical Demands:

The Home Childcare Provider will be required to lift, carry, and move children and heavy objects, and may be required to work in a standing position for extended periods.

Security and Safety:

The Home Childcare Provider will be required to undergo a criminal record check, and maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

The Home Childcare Provider will work in a home setting, and may be required to work in a standing position for extended periods. The work environment will be fast-paced and dynamic, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Personal Suitability:

The Home Childcare Provider will be required to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and have a positive attitude.

Experience:

Experience working with children, preferably in a home setting, is an asset. The Home Childcare Provider will be required to have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, and a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a home setting.
