Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

Cementation Canada is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of conveyor belts, including services and utilities required for the conveyors. You will also replace electrical equipment in a MCC room and reticulated power, plant air, and water lines along the length of the conveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with other trades personnel and crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of conveyor systems.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams and plans to troubleshoot equipment and identify solutions.
  • Isolate electrical power to equipment and follow established procedures in shutting down and disassembling equipment.
  • Inspect, adjust, and report any condition that may cause premature breakdowns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of conveyor systems.

Requirements:

  • Valid Journeyperson Electrician Certificate.
  • Registered in Ontario as an Electrician (considered an asset).
  • Full Basic Underground Common Core (an asset).
  • Minimum 3 years of work-related experience as a licensed Journeyperson Electrician.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with others.
