We are seeking a highly skilled Network Planning Specialist to join our team at MOBIA. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for establishing network investment plans that align with our strategic direction and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop mid-range and long-range network plans to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Broadband planning, including documenting plans with inputs from other planners
- Develop plans for Voice switch modernization, including solutions, documentation, costing, and guidance to IMs and other groups
- Create the annual capital program for Voice
- Develop plans including descriptions of the underlying business need and solution, as well as a high-level estimated project plan including resourcing, cost, timeline, and business value
- Assess technological business needs on a case-by-case basis, provide high-level estimates of technology solutions, and utilize that assessment to develop business cases for technological solutions
- Contribute to the strategic planning process and planning phases of technology projects in the organization
- Maintain the technology menu by approving devices for specific applications, including IOS versions and levels; chairing the technology committee; and maintaining, supporting, and enforcing the technology approval process
- Develop and monitor the capital plan
- Responsible for managing capacity and availability of assets to ensure planners have information to develop technology business plans
- Manage the lifecycle of various assets, including active monitoring of asset utilization, capacity tracking, optimization, repurposing, and release management, including patching and configuration
- Experience in technical project management/coordination as well as material management (ordering, tracking, etc.)
- Minimum of 5 years practical experience in one or more of the subject areas; switching, transmission, satellite, civil, data, or access
- Possess strong computer literacy, project planning, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Understanding of specific applications of telecommunications network technologies is required
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Ribbon C20 voice switch, PSTN, VOIP/SIP, and IP Network integration
- Knowledge of Routing/Switching
- Previous experience within the telecommunications industry is an asset
- Insight into the financial/economic aspects of the telecommunications industry and the use of SAP is an asset
