Patient Focused Care Responsibilities
The Pharmaceutical Professional will provide safe and effective drug therapy, contribute to a patient-focused environment, and achieve excellence in clinical services, customer service, and workflow efficiencies.
- Focus on clinical services, medication reviews, and disease state management.
- Initiate care plans, follow up, and document.
- Administer vaccines.
- Determine the appropriateness of drug therapy.
- Monitor medication adherence.
- Collect and document patient, drug, and disease information.
- Recommend OTC products and vitamins.
- Answer patient questions requiring therapeutic knowledge, clinical analysis, or assessment.
- Supervise a pharmacy student or provisional pharmacist in restricted activities.
Technical Skills
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Education and Experience
A valid Alberta College of Pharmacy license and injection certification are required; additional prescribing authorization is an asset.
