Substation Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Technologist to join our Transmission Field Operations team in Red Deer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of substation equipment associated with our transmission system.

• Operate and maintain substation equipment, including 4160V-500KV systems.
• Provide maintenance planning and scheduling information to support the efficient operation of our transmission system.
• Respond to system emergencies and troubleshoot issues with substation facilities.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our transmission system.
• Assist with capital upgrade and replacement work, as well as the implementation of new technologies.

• Graduation from a recognized Technologist Diploma program in Electrical Technology or Power System Electrician Journeyman Certificate.
• Proven experience in substation maintenance and operation.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
