About This Opportunity

Hammonds Plains Family Practice is a professionally managed clinic seeking a full-time Family Physician to join its team. Located in a comfortable commute from central Halifax, the practice offers an excellent work-life balance and supports friendly administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients and take their medical histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; provide expert advice on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention.
  • Consult with other medical practitioners and refer patients as necessary.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations.
  • Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health concerns as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements.
Working Hours

Full-time, 1.0FTE position available.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
  • Malpractice insurance coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $**175,000**-**200,000**, depending on experience and qualifications. The clinic uses the ACCURO electronic medical record system and offers competitive overhead fees.
