Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional support to our facilities management team, including replacing head custodians and custodians during periods of absence.
- Perform grounds maintenance as required, including snow shoveling, sweeping, and mopping.
- Supervise and lead custodial staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and products, and prepare written reports and defect lists as needed.
- Operate custodial cleaning equipment and identify simple problems with this equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance activities, including repairing lockers, doors, and furniture, and replacing fuses and light bulbs.
- Use manual or mechanized equipment to remove snow, cut grass, and perform other grounds maintenance tasks.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
- High school diploma or equivalent of Grade 12.
- Two years of experience in the custodial field.
- Ability to supervise and lead people.
- Proven track record of dependability, reliability, and exceptional job performance.
- Knowledge of all cleaning methods and materials, as well as health and safety items relating to the school.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions.
- Working knowledge of email and computer software programs like Excel or Word.
- Knowledge of WHMIS.
