This role involves overseeing the review, approval, operations, compliance, and monitoring aspects of forest management. You will guide forest management staff, engage with various stakeholders, and ensure adherence to legislation and policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Forest Operations Monitoring Program and the Timber Revenue and Production Monitoring program
  • Conducting quality assessments and ensuring sustainable forest practices
  • Providing ongoing support and training to forest officers and foresters
  • Assisting in field monitoring and identification of forest insects and disease

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A 2-year diploma in Forestry or a related Natural Resources Management field, plus four years of related experience
  • Equivalencies such as a Bachelor's degree in Forestry or a related Natural Resource Management field, plus a minimum of two years of related experience
  • Certified Timber Scaler with a valid scaler's permit
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with the Alberta Association of Forest Management Professionals

This permanent, full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $2,607.26 to $3,354.30 bi-weekly. The standard weekly work hours are 36.25, Monday to Friday.
