Job Description

This Operations Team Lead role will be responsible for leading a team of customer-focused professionals in the investment products department. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar leadership role and possess knowledge of registered product procedures, including deposits, mutual fund securities regulations, and legislative regulations related to tax-sheltered products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Directing and driving a customer-focused culture within the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Leading the activities of the department to ensure achievement of quality service goals and objectives.
  • Effectively managing the accurate execution of requests for BNS & SSI Dealer, ensuring daily settlement of outstanding trades, reporting on and correcting rejected transactions, and maintaining an accurate dealer database.
  • Ensuring effective utilization of human resources by preparing performance appraisal reports, conducting staff meetings, and providing training and guidance to staff.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation, process/system enhancements, and participating in special projects assigned by senior management.

This role also involves aiding clients, branches, call centers, and other internal/external contacts via telephone or correspondence as they relate to policy interpretation and resolution of complex situations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in finance or a related field (CSC preferred).
  • Prior experience leading a team.
  • Knowledge of registered product procedures, including deposits, mutual fund securities regulations, and legislative regulations related to tax-sheltered products.
