Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Lead to join our team at Arbutus Search Group. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems and controls for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project management processes and oversee technical execution, quality, and success of projects.
  • Coach and mentor employees in technical execution and project processes, ensuring employee efficiency.
  • Design electrical systems for greenfield and existing industrial applications.
  • Validate electrical systems using standard engineering tools and software.
  • Create and modify design drawings with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Write technical documentation for design activities and work plans.
  • Supervise and perform FAT testing in-office or client site per documented test plan.
  • Conduct supervision and commissioning services at client sites, including after hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Communicate project progress effectively with clients, aligning with project goals and the organization's interest.
  • Travel to client sites for meetings or work as required.
  • Manage time allocations efficiently, meeting deadlines, and providing feedback to project managers.
  • Estimate time for work to be performed for management.
  • Enter work hours and comments into the timesheet program weekly and on time.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Registration or eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) with good standing.
  • 5+ years of current and relevant professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, NFPA, NEC, and other industry standards & requirements pertaining to electrical systems and safety.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Compensation

$100k to $130k based on experience, $20k bonus based on company and individual performance.
