**Job Description:**

As a Supply Educational Assistant, you will be working with students with special education needs across various age groups, preferably within a school environment. Your collaborative spirit and ability to collaborate with classroom teachers are crucial for establishing a positive classroom environment that fosters growth and support.

  • Proven Experience: Showcase your hands-on experience working with students with special education needs.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrate your ability to collaborate with classroom teachers.
  • Comprehensive Student Support Skills: Highlight your skills in providing support across personal care, mobility, communication, and life skills.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
  • Education Expertise: Graduate of a College of Applied Arts & Technology in Educational Assistance and Adult Supports (preferred), Autism Behavioural Sciences, Child and Youth Worker, or possess equivalent post-secondary training.
  • Valuable Experience: Previous experience in an Educational Assistant role within diverse classroom settings is a notable asset.
  • Mobility and Dedication: Access to reliable transportation, coupled with your enthusiasm to work in multiple DSBN school locations throughout the Niagara region.
  • Physical Agility: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and physically assist children, including lifting.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Preferred certification in Standard First Aid/CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Behavioural Management Systems (BMS).
