About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at Coquitlam Upholstery Shop Ltd. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for restoring and refinishing furniture to its original glory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Discuss fabric, colour and style options with customers to ensure their furniture meets their needs
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for upholstering furniture or other items
  • Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts to ensure durability and safety
  • Lay out, cut, fabricate and install new upholstery to exacting standards
  • Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons to add a touch of elegance
  • Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to restore their original beauty
  • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to create intricate designs
Requirements
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure high-quality work
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and textures to select the perfect fabric
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling to navigate the workshop
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in furniture upholstery and repair
  • Permanent full-time position with 40 hours per week
  • English language proficiency
