Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Global Markets Intern/Co-op to join our team. As a key member of our global markets team, you will be responsible for supporting clients, conducting market research, and contributing to the development of marketplace modeling and ad-hoc quantitative research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with sales traders to support clients and conduct day-to-day activities that facilitate client trading.
  • Allocate client trades to the proper accounts.
  • Conduct research and obtain market data through Bloomberg, trading systems, and internal databases.
  • Maintain the group's online, client-facing, web portal.
  • Design and implement front-office solutions to optimize trading operations.
  • Assist in multiple marketplace modeling and ad-hoc quantitative research.
  • Coordinate with various groups (middle office, back office, technology, clients) in resolving technical and settlement issues in trading operations.
Requirements
  • Current enrollment in a relevant post-secondary program.
  • Strong financial/analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in financial modeling and valuation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills are mandatory as the job requires you to speak directly with clients.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others (both with internal and external stakeholders).
  • Highly-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a proactive manner.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail is a MUST.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, VBA, and Bloomberg is a plus (requirement of these skills vary by desks).
