Job Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for general building and property maintenance tasks.

The individual will partner with the Facilities Supervisor to complete scheduled and preventative maintenance activities.

They will utilize a computerized maintenance management system to maintain equipment inventory and schedule maintenance.

The technician will conduct monthly maintenance and safety inspections, responding immediately to emergency situations as they arise.


  • Assemble and install various types of material handling equipment
  • Complete daily inspections and cleanup of the building perimeter and grounds
  • Timely respond to reports of equipment issues to minimize downtime and impact to the operation
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the Maintenance department
  • Snow and ice removal
  • Reporting hazards and injuries immediately
  • Following all legislative requirements and internal standards, policies, and procedures while upholding the company's core values
  • Other relevant and related duties as assigned


Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess a Maintenance Technician diploma or equivalent.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in general building maintenance is required.

A strong understanding of trades (HVAC, painting, carpentry, drywall, electrical, plumbing) is essential, along with knowledge of preventative and demand maintenance.

The candidate should have experience with hand tools and power tools.

The individual must be physically able to repeatedly lift, push, pull up to 100lbs, as well as stand, bend, kneel, climb, and stretch for long periods of time.

Possessing a valid driver's license and having access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications.
