Sales Supervisor

A position at White Cap Canada offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and diverse environment. As a Sales Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the inside sales function. Your primary goal will be to ensure that customers and outside sales staff receive prompt and efficient service. This will involve placing sales orders, requesting sales quotes, inquiring about product availability, and addressing other sales and service-related questions. Your role will be to provide the highest level of customer service possible while maximizing sales and gross profit.
Key Responsibilities
- Review estimates, quotes, and sales orders written by the inside sales staff. Provide input to the performance of inside sales staff. Provide instruction and assign duties to associates. Administer guidelines for consistent quoting. Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Ensure that the inside sales staff receives adequate training in computer systems, sales SOPs, product knowledge, sales techniques, and relevant operations SOPs.
- Assist inside sales staff in resolving problems associated with customer service, product availability, price, product warranty, and product delivery.
- Create POs using line disposition. Follow up on all sales orders, back orders, and special orders to ensure full shipment. Review the Back Order Report daily and expedite any pending back orders.
- Research and prepare sales orders and quotes for customers and outside sales staff according to specifications and information provided. Provide customers and outside sales staff with reliable information regarding product specifications, product suitability, pricing, and availability.
- Keep outside sales staff informed about all business activity that has transpired with the account base.
- Work at the sales counter to serve in-store customers as assigned. Contribute to add-on sales by maintaining a high level of product knowledge. Maintain product knowledge through independent study and by attending all assigned product knowledge meetings and workshops. Handle customer inquiries and problem resolution when an outside salesperson is not available.
Requirements
- Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
