St. Martha's Regional Hospital, a 90-bed facility in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, is seeking a full-time pediatrician to join their 4-physician department. The hospital provides a range of medical specialties and sub-specialties, serving a population of nearly 40,000 from Antigonish, Guysborough, and surrounding communities.
The pediatrician will have the opportunity to engage in research and/or have medical teaching positions with Dalhousie University, should that be of interest. Office space attached to the hospital is available.
The department is comprised of pediatricians, as well as colleagues in anesthesia, emergency medicine, family medicine, general surgery, geriatrics, hospitalists, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, palliative care, plastic surgery, psychiatry, radiology, and visiting oncology and neurology.
ResponsibilitiesThe pediatrician will be responsible for providing full scope of practice as a pediatrician, providing care to patients within the eastern zone and participating in call. The physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head of Women and Children's Services for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Expected Hours- Full-time
- On call (1:4)
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
