We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical/Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist to join our team at The University of British Columbia. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will provide advanced medical office assistance, administrative, and clerical support to our departments located on campus.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, students, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage patient records, including data entry, chart preparation, and maintenance of electronic medical records.
- Coordinate appointments, bookkeeping, and billing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Process payments, reconcile accounts, and handle financial transactions, including credit card payments and travel requisitions.
- Assist with meetings and events, including booking, coordination, and setup.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, mail sorting, and filing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with patients, staff, and faculty, providing exceptional service and support.
- High School graduation and completion of a Medical or Dental Office Assistant program (including terminology).
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and billing procedures.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and office software.
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
This is a full-time position, with regular working hours and occasional overtime as required. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
