The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Project Manager to lead our team in designing, developing, and implementing complex software applications. As a key member of our Information Technology Services (ITS) team, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, and meeting the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to gather business and functional requirements, provide direction, and facilitate good working relationships to achieve project objectives.
- Resource Allocation: Strategize and plan for resource allocation, propose solution blueprints, estimate levels of effort, and coordinate and review daily activities of development units.
- Requirements Gathering: Lead teams responsible for gathering requirements, analyzing procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure proposed system business rules adhere to regulations.
- Technical Recommendations: Prepare technical and administrative recommendations for executive management to inform decision-making and practices in the formulation of decisions having impact on other areas of ITS.
Requirements:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in computer science or a related computer field.
- Two (2) years of satisfactory full-time software experience in designing, programming, debugging, maintaining, implementing, and enhancing computer software applications, systems programming, systems analysis and design, data communication software, or database design and programming.
- One year of experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
Working Hours/Shift: Full-time position with regular working hours.
