We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Physician to join our Cancer Care team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an Associate Physician, you will provide clinical care under the supervision of a fully licensed physician and work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Clinical Responsibilities- Provide inpatient and outpatient care to patients with various types of cancer, including hematology, gynecology, radiation, and medical oncology.
- Liaise with nurses, house staff, attending staff, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform procedures within your scope of practice, including inserting peripheral IV lines, taking blood samples, and removing sutures.
- Collaborate with oncology teams to manage chemotherapy orders and arrange investigations and follow-up care.
- Communicate with patients, families, and referring physicians to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in resident and medical student training and evaluation, as well as bedside teaching and educational sessions.
We are looking for a candidate who meets the requirements to obtain a Clinical Assistant License from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and has obtained a Review of Qualifications from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia prior to application. You should have a good command of written and spoken English, be able to promote and maintain good interpersonal skills, and have a physical and mental ability to perform the duties of the role.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of $65.81 per hour. You will be required to work 48 hours per week, including on-call participation. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
