Rockyview General Hospital, Calgary's second largest tertiary care site, is currently recruiting a part-time Cardiology Technologist I. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Cardiac Diagnostics and Clinics, you will be responsible for performing various cardiac tests, understanding and recognizing the pathophysiology associated with these test results, and processing the resulting data.

Job Summary:

As a Cardiology Technologist I, you will prepare patients for non-invasive cardiac testing to investigate cardiac abnormalities and level of function, including Holter Monitoring, Exercise Tolerance Testing, and Ambulatory Monitoring. You will educate patients on equipment function as required, collect client history for procedures, and document information for physicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and summarize test results, and generate reports for physician interpretation
  • Provide expertise in the set-up, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Implement resuscitation measures when necessary
  • Precept, orient new staff and students, and provide input into the evaluation of cardiology trainees and/or students
  • Serve as a clinical resource by providing information regarding cardiology technology to staff and patients

Requirements:

  • Completion of a certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology
  • Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologist (ASRCT)
  • Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists Cardiology Technology (CSCT)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • 3 months of experience as a Cardiology Technologist in an acute care setting within the past 2 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exercise tolerance/Stress testing experience within the last 2 years (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater)
  • Experience within the last 2 years related to the application, processing, and review of holter and event monitors
  • Familiarity with the following IT systems: MUSE, MARS, GEMS, Spacelabs BP, and/or Connect Care

About the Role:

This part-time position offers approximately 7.75 hours per shift, with a rotation of days, evenings, and weekends. The estimated salary for this role is $31.13-$40.38 per hour, based on the location and industry standards.
