Job Title: School Bus Monitor

About the Role:

First Student Canada-Transco is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious School Bus Monitor to join our team. As a School Bus Monitor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the welfare of passengers while on route and communicate any issues with the driver.
  • Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is safe and ready for operation.
  • Assist students in the loading and unloading process and maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
  • Communicate effectively with school personnel, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and safe transportation experience.
  • Attend all safety and training meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Good verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Attention to detail to ensure the safe operation of the bus.
  • Early morning availability to accommodate the school bus schedule.
  • Judgement and problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations on the bus.
