Black & McDonald is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Operator to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities, Maintenance and Operations (FMO) team, you will be responsible for maintaining assigned client facilities located in Saskatoon and the surrounding area.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and execute responsive and planned maintenance in accordance with BAS or facility management systems
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other subcontractors; supervise subcontractors
- Perform basic tours and log readings
- Respond to tenant complaints
- Perform light duties such as cleaning, painting, garbage removal, snow removal, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical duties, assisting subcontractors' technicians and mechanics
- Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships to enhance competitiveness in the industry and promote good customer relationships
- Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs
- Represent the company on matters such as business services
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
- Assist in purchasing building materials
- Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies
- Current Fireman Boiler Operator Certificate (TSASK or equivalent)
- Class 5 Power Engineering Certification would be an asset
- Construction trade certification in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical is beneficial
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Building Operator; experience in operating a commercial facility, preferred
- Knowledge and experience with building automation systems and HVAC systems
