Millwright Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Tradesperson II - Millwright to join our team at the Pacific National Exhibition. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our ride attractions, ensuring they are safe and operational for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rebuild and repair ride attractions as specified
- Perform accurate and timely ride inspections
- Maintain all required service records and logs
- Make recommendations for improvements, modifications, and upgrades
- Assist with major overhauls, modifications, and alterations as required
- Ensure the safe operation of each work area and project
- Participate and lead safety-related discussions in toolbox talks meetings
- Meet all required training obligations, including attendance, active participation, exam writing, and certification
- Provide direction to junior technicians as required
- Assist with daily preventative maintenance programs
- Install new equipment
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Safely operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and zoom booms
Requirements:
- Successful completion of Grade 12
- Successful completion of post-secondary training to a Trades Qualification (TQ) or equivalent industry experience
- Mechanic or Millwright license preferred
- Valid British Columbia Class 5 driver's license
- Required to be a designated member of the High Angle Rescue team
- Must obtain NARSO/AIMS license after completing required hours
- Experience in a diverse industrial environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills
- Ability to work day and afternoon shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
- Proven problem-solving, troubleshooting, and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility
- Ownership of tools and safety boots
- Exposure to machining equipment and diverse background troubleshooting hydraulics an asset
- Welding experience (SMAW all-position CWB certified welder/fitter) an asset
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Occupational First Aid Level II an asset
- Meet physical demands of the job, including weights of up to 23kg, heights of 70m, frequent standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending, crawling, and ability to work with ladders
