Job Title: Emissions Technician

A Day in the life:

As an Emissions Technician at Montrose Environmental Group, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day inspections of components in the Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Program.

This position will be responsible for maintaining and caring for their monitoring equipment and overall maintenance of the LDAR inventory.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participate and be engaged in the safety culture
  2. Use of Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras to detect emissions and use various technologies to quantify them
  3. Complete comprehensive Job Safety Analysis at their jobsite
  4. Maintain and use all required PPE
  5. Assisting in coordinating and navigating to various facilities with maps and GPS.
  6. Perform and document calibration of monitoring instrument as required
  7. Receive handheld and ensure information is accurate, where applicable
  8. Comply with all permit and sign in procedures for the site
  9. Perform and document field inspections accurately, safely and efficiently
  10. Document on leak tag completely and accurately for all leaks found
  11. Document and report any tag maintenance and inventory discrepancies found in the field
  12. Document Management of Change and assist to maintain the accuracy of field inventories
  13. Perform and document drift assessments, where applicable
  14. Ensure job site is clean and free of any materials
  15. Participate in training for career development, safety and maintaining required certifications
  16. Perform any other duties assigned by client or project manager(s)
Requirements:
  1. Must have a Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Process, Chemical and Instrumentation) from an accredited College or University
  2. Knowledge and experience with LDAR related hardware and tools is considered an asset
Preferred Experience:
  1. 1+ years in the Oil & Gas industry experience is preferred
Systems:
  1. Experience with Workday is beneficial
  2. Experience with LDAR database software programs is beneficial
  3. Proficient in MS Office especially MS Excel
Licensures/Training Requirements:
  1. Valid Driver's License is required with a clean abstract
  2. First Aid, CPR, H2S Alive, TDG, WHIMS are considered an asset
Safety/Drug Screening:
  1. Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening
  2. Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work from heights
Travel:
  1. Ability/willingness to travel across all provinces as well as the US
