Job Summary

We are seeking a Recreation Therapist to join the team at Sechelt, BC. As a Recreation Therapist with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will work in a team-based environment, providing therapeutic recreation/leisure interventions to designated clients/residents. You will participate as a member of an integrated collaborative healthcare team, assessing clients' recreation and leisure needs, abilities, and interests, maintaining various records, planning and implementing therapeutic recreation care plans, evaluating the effectiveness of the intervention, and communicating with the client/resident/family and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team-based environment and provide therapeutic recreation/leisure interventions to designated clients/residents
• Participate as a member of an integrated collaborative healthcare team, assessing clients' recreation and leisure needs, abilities, and interests
• Maintain various records, plan and implement therapeutic recreation care plans, evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention, and communicate with the client/resident/family and healthcare team members

Requirements

• Baccalaureate in Therapeutic Recreation or Leisure Studies from an accredited university
• Eligible for certification and CTRS credential with National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency First Aid
• Valid Class IV Driver's License

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is CAD $37.89/Hr. - CAD $47.31/Hr., based on the location and industry standards.
