About the Bartender Role:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join our team at City Experiences. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional hospitality to our guests and coworkers, while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve high-quality beverages to guests and servers throughout the cruise
- Accurately follow recipes for all beverages and maintain thorough knowledge of all beverage offerings and prices
- Provide prompt and consistent bar service, including setting up and breaking down the bar, stocking and restocking bar according to prescribed par specifications, and cleaning the bar thoroughly
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the bar and all common areas and service stations
- Accurately charge guests for onboard purchases and enter orders into the point-of-sale system
- Complete empty runs to the bunker in proper liquor/beer boxes after the cruise
- Accurately count bar inventory daily and prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic requisition forms before the event starts
- Assist servers with clearing tables and taking out the bar garbage
- Organize the empties storage as needed and clean fridges, glass machine, and ice machine weekly
- Provide information to guests about beverage and food menu descriptions, entertainment options, cruise route, and points of interest
- Train new staff as directed by the manager on duty and maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards
Requirements and Qualifications:
- One year of bartending experience required or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
- Smart Serve Certification required
- Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
- Ability to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers
- Comprehensive knowledge of beverage recipes and basic computer skills required
- Service orientation and ability to work for extended periods without sitting
- Ability to lift heavy items such as liquor boxes and ice bins up and down stairs
- Responsible for bar till and proper cash handling required
