About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our Canadian team as an HRBP. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to senior leaders and driving business results through effective people management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Coaching: Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on employee-relations and performance management issues, escalating when necessary. Ensure performance issues are documented and delivered with appropriate feedback and recommended level of disciplinary action.
  • Workplace Investigations: Lead and manage employee relations investigations and consult with legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Policy Development: Interpret and apply understanding of corporate policies and practices, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification to leaders with day-to-day responsibilities for managing employees, reducing legal risk.
  • Strategy Development: Build credibility and trust by developing impactful people strategies using data-based insights, business acumen, best practices, and industry trends to address business challenges.
  • Talent Acquisition and Development: Work with operations leaders to identify current and future business needs and evaluate bench strength for key positions and planned growth.
  • Organizational Change: Partner with recruiting, talent, and learning teams to deliver talent management solutions to address workforce challenges. Support leaders in the execution of talent review, succession planning and employee development plans.
  • Culture and Employee Experience: Identify and drive the communication and sharing of best practices across hospitals and groups to facilitate continuous improvement.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field; PHR / SPHR preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience handling employee relations, performance management, talent management and employee engagement; Experience leading teams and developing HR strategies strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an influential and credible leader who proactively provides support, follow-up, and execution to ensure teams achieve results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to adapt communication style within all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate ideas into actionable items.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and manage ambiguity – dealing with issues that do not always have a process or a system in place.
  • Capable of executing in a rapidly changing, complex work environment.
  • Proven ability with strong use of judgment to identify and anticipate issues, client needs and establish appropriate plans to resolve issues.
  • Travel required; frequency will depend on business needs (up to 75%).
