Job Description:

Tetra Tech is seeking an Intermediate Airport Consultant to join our Airports Group in Nanaimo, BC. As a key member of our team, you will provide airfield engineering services related to project management, planning, assessments, design, site inspection, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop sound technical solutions for airport infrastructure, including assessment, design, evaluation, and construction strategy.
  • Prepare technical letters, reviews, reports, quality control documents, memos, and other documentation.
  • Liaise and coordinate with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Prepare project drawings, specifications, cost estimates, operational plans, schedules, and various project deliverables.
  • Conduct quality checks of designs, drawings, specifications, quantity calculations, and tender documents.
  • Provide project management tasks, including client liaison, tracking, and reporting progress against the work plan, budgets, and deliverables.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: A minimum of 4 years' experience in civil engineering in Canada, specifically in airport design/project management.
  2. Airport Design and Project Experience: Knowledge of Transport Canada, ICAO, and FAA guidelines is essential.
  3. Technical Skills: Proven skills employing civil (airport) engineering fundamentals, including geometric, pavement, and grading designs.
  4. Communication and Documentation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  5. Organizational Abilities: Must be well-organized and capable of managing and prioritizing numerous tasks.
  6. Project Success: Proven success in delivering high-quality projects on time and on budget.
  7. Interest in Planning and Financial Management: An aptitude for, and interest in, planning, scheduling, and financial management.
  8. Collaboration and Independence: Ability to work well independently and as part of a team environment.
  9. Practical Considerations: Possession of a valid Canadian driver's license.
  10. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent diploma with relevant experience.
