Overview

Oak Park Co-operative Children's Centre is a leading provider of high-quality childcare services. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Centre Director to lead our team and drive the success of our centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our centre, licensed for 58 children, and ensuring that we deliver exceptional care and education to our young charges. This includes managing staff, planning and developing programs, and evaluating services to ensure they meet the needs of our children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of staff to provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years;
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and other relevant legislation;
  • Collaborate with the Program Supervisor to oversee all aspects of program delivery, including curriculum development and implementation;
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and CCEYA requirements;
  • Communicate effectively with families, community agencies, and government representatives to promote our services and build strong relationships;
  • Manage the centre's budget and financial resources to ensure effective use of funds and achieve financial sustainability;
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education and care, and apply this knowledge to inform our programming and services;
  • Support the Board of Directors in their governance role, providing advice and guidance as needed.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (or equivalent);
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership or management role in a licensed group childcare setting;
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education and child development principles and theories;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (required for travel and meetings).
