Responsibilities
As a franchise owner with Giant Tiger, you will be responsible for:
- Store Management: Prepare financial reports and track sales performance, take corrective action when necessary, and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability, manage inventory levels and make purchasing decisions based on sales trends.
- Team Leadership: Manage store staff, including recruitment, training, and supervision, provide exceptional customer service, and contribute to the store's success.
- Administration: Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and expenses, prepare reports for senior management, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Community Engagement: Represent the store in the local community, coordinate and participate in community events, and establish relationships with local businesses and organizations.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience in retail, including one year in a leadership role
- Ability to lead and manage teams, with the flexibility to adapt leadership style to meet the needs of team members
- Basic computer skills, with a willingness to learn new software and systems, and adapt to Giant Tiger's procedures
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey ideas, actively listen, and facilitate productive dialogue
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage tasks, schedules, and projects
- Strong community involvement, demonstrated through participation in non-profit initiatives, sports teams, and local organizations
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Willingness to travel to other regions for training and potential store management opportunities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using sales reports and customer feedback to interpret market trends and improve sales performance
- Experience in visual merchandising
- Previous experience with WorkDay or a similar HR management system
- Bilingualism (English and French)
