About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Assembler to join our team at SM Custom Kitchen Cabinet. As a Cabinet Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling and finishing wooden and metal furniture and fixture parts to form subassemblies and complete articles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Finishing: Assemble wooden or metal furniture and fixture parts to form subassemblies and complete articles.
  • Quality Control: Inspect furniture and fixture subassemblies and finished products for conformance to quality standards.
  • Material Preparation: Prepare, sand, and trim wooden furniture and fixture parts.
  • Finishing Operations: Stain or finish wood to specified color, apply toners, highlights, glazes, or shaders to obtain desired finish.
  • Reinforcement and Decoration: Reinforce assembled furniture and fixtures with dowels or other supports, decorate wood surfaces.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean, polish, and wax furniture, sand metal furniture to prepare for finish and spray with paint or other materials.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Work Environment: Noisy, dusty, hot.
  • Work Setting: Furniture manufacturing company.
  • Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, organized, reliability, team player.
